Armenia is a releasable country, that can be released by either the 
Ottoman Empire or 
Russia.
When released from the Ottomans, Armenia will receive Ardahan, Trabzon, Erzincan, Erzurum, Bitlis, Van and Kars, with Trabzon becoming capital. Doing so will make Batum a Turkish exclave, unless 
Georgia is released with the province.
When released by Russia, Armenia will be formed with the provinces Erivan, Gyumri, Kapan, Nakhichevan and Agdam, with the latter two being today part of 
Azerbaijan and with Erivan acting as capital. An independent Azerbaijan has cores on some Armenian provinces, but that should not realistically be a problem.
They have one the worst literacy rates in the game for a civilized nation. It does however have a lot of 
iron, so if literacy improves it is possible to maintain a decent industry. Researching Clean coal and Cheap iron as soon as possible is important to maximize iron production.
Allying with Russia and attacking The Ottoman Empire is a good strategy, since there are a lot of Armenian POPs all over Turkey, especially in Istanbul. Taking Ankara is not advised though, so not to prevent the event Flight from Istanbul.
