The Nobel Prize in Chemistry is a series of events that can happen to all civilized nations after the Swedish event Alfred Nobel's Request To Humanity has happened. It is very similar to the other Nobel Prize events like The Nobel Prize in Physics and The Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology, and only have differences in flavour. A scientist in the nation has one the prestigious Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
In reality they are 35 different events, which all have similar but slightly different requirements, and can happen at different times. Every single one can only happen to one nation, but it then opens the possibility the win the next one. The first one starts in 1901 and the last one starts in 1935.
They can happen to all civilized nations that has researched electricity and have a set of requirements, where at least one has to be fulfilled 1) Either be a great power 2) or be a European nation with at least 50 prestige. (a few require only 25) 3) or be a nation outside of Europe with at least 500 prestige. (a few require only 250)
All nations that fulfill the requirements have an equal chance of winning. Inventions and research other than electricity doesn't actually help.
They have a mean time to happen of 1 year, which is decreased by 10% after one year and another 5% after another year. The usually have a 5-year window, in which they can happen. A few only have a 3-year window however. If by chance, one event does not fire at all, it actually closes the entire chain of events.
They usually give the nation 10 prestige although a few give 25 prestige.
