Prestige is one of the most important concepts in Victoria 2. A nation's prestige score represents the amount of glory and honor it has amassed over the years. It is the amount of respect given a nation by other countries. It is the most abstract and intangible one of the three factors that determines the perceived rank among the countries of the world. Prestige is not fixed. Though the most powerful countries begin the game with a few prestige points, a well run great power should have amassed several thousand prestige points by the end of the game.

However, it may be inaccurate when trying to predict the outcome of wars, as it doesn't factor in if the country is civilized or the level of technology. Industrial score is based off how many factories a country have and how many are employed in them, and is usually lower than [[Military score]] or [[Prestige]] due to how long factories take to build and the fact, that [[uncivilized nations]] generally cannot build them. This score is a good indicator on how many factories a country have, and thus, how strong their economy is.

How much they actually produce does not have an effect on the score, so having employed craftsmen which don't do anything increases the score. A [[Great power]] does also get points, for factories [[investment|invested]] in other smaller powers.

总分决定了国家的排名。排名前8位的国家成为列强,前9~16位成为次强。不论总分如何,未开化国家的排名永远位于开化国家的后面,但是未开化国家之间仍然根据总分决定他们的排名。
